Christmas Craft Creations February Theme: Pink

Christmas Craft Creations February Theme: Pink

Hello! This month's theme at the Christmas Craft Creations is pink. I was excited to play with a new Kindred Stamps set to really lean into the pink vibes of this challenge.

Supplies used:

Card #1

This card started out by stamping the unicorns from Kindred Stamps' Merry Unicorns stamp set on some watercolor paper with Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink and then heat embossing them with Ranger's Holographic embossing powder. They were colored in with all of the pink Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers in my stash. The unicorns were made sparkly with a combination of Clear Wink of Stella pen on their bodies and Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll pen on their hooves, mane, tails, and horns. They were fussy cut and set aside.

Next came the circular background. I used A Colorful Life Designs' Dashing Circles stencil to add Ranger's Moon Dust Stickles Glitter Gel onto a piece of white cardstock. After the stickles had dried, I die cut the cardstock with one of the mid-sized dies from Scrapbook.com's Nested Fancy Circle Borders Decorative Die Set and then ink blended the edge of the circle with  Catherine Pooler's Party Dress ink. This was also set aside.

The background was created next, using Gina K Design's Master Layout 2 die set. The matte  layer was made out of Tessler Crafts' NACRE Circle paper die cut with the largest die in the Gina K set, while the pink layer was die cut out of a piece of pink and white star patterned paper in my stash with the second-largest stitched die in the die set. I ink blended the edges of the pink panel with more of the Party Dress ink.

I then glued the circular die cut (with the frame) over the center left part of the pink panel, and cutting off the overhang so that everything was neat. I then added a few scrap paper hearts punched out with  Ek Tools’ Confetti Hearts onto the pink card panel. I then stamped the sentiment (also from Kindred Stamps' Merry Unicorns stamp set) with more of the Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink and heat embossing with Ranger's Holographic powder on the bottom right corner of the panel. I then glued the pink panel to the white matte layer. I splattered some gold watercolor from my  Gansai Tambi Gem Colors watercolor set as well as more of the Party Dress ink mixed with water over the card panel.

Lastly, I glued some scraps of cardstock behind the unicorns to add some dimension and then glued them onto the lower part of the circular die cut and added some pink sequins from a combination of  Catherine Pooler's Mazatlรกn and Mission sequin mixes. The whole card panel was glued onto an A2-sized white card base to finish the card.

Card #2

This card came together in a similar fashion as the first, with the exception of orientating the circle and unicorn to the right side (over the sentiment) and omitting the punched out hearts.

Thanks for reading! We hope that you can join us for this month's Christmas Craft Creations' challenge.
