Try Stampin' on Tuesday #588
Hello
friends and Happy New Years! Today at Try Stampin' on Tuesday's Challenge #588
we have another wonderful sketch and optional theme of winter activities.
While I don't have a ton of stamps and supplies with winter activities myself, I do have some snow people.
Supplies used:
Stamps: Simon Says Stamp's Warmest Wishes stamp set
Dies: Gina K Design's Master Layout 2 die set, Simon Says Stamp's Warmest Wishes die set
Stencil: My Favorite Things' Rolling Cloud stencil
Paper: Watercolor paper, white cardstock, patterned paper in my stash
Ink: Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink, Rubbernecker Stamp's Whisper Color Fuse Ink
Embossing Powder: Ranger's Holographic embossing powder
Markers: Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers
Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll pen
Washi tape: Diagonal multi-colored washi tape in my stash
Sequins: Catherine Pooler's Zermatt sequin mix
It is snowing in Portland as I make this card, so it feels appropriate! It started out with the snowpeople and trees from Simon Says Stamp's Warmest Wishes stamp set stamped with Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink and then heat embossed with Ranger's Holographic embossing powder. After die cutting them with their corresponding dies from the Simon Says Stamp's Warmest Wishes die set, they were colored with a variety of colors of Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and sparkle was added to the scarves, hats and buttons with a Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll pen. They were then set aside.
Next came the top panel. I die cut a piece of white cardstock with the second-largest die from Gina K Design's Master Layout 2 die set and then used My Favorite Things' Rolling Cloud stencil to ink blend Rubbernecker Stamp's Whisper Color Fuse Ink onto the panel and then ink blended around the edges of the panel with more of the Whisper Ink. I then stamped the snowflakes from the Warmest Wishes stamp set repeatedly onto the panel with more of the Whisper Ink, making sure that a few of them were stamped off the edge of the panel. The three trees and two snowpeople were glued onto the panel, and the slight overhand of tree limbs on the left hand side were trimmed so they ended at the edge of the panel. I again ink blended around the edges of the panel, this time focusing on the lower left corner to ink blend around the bottoms of the snow people and the trimmed tree limbs so they fit in with the rest of the card.
The background/matte layer was created by die cutting a piece of green and white snowflake patterned paper in my stash with the largest die from Gina K Design's Master Layout 2 die set and then cutting the panel in half to create the split panel called for in the sketch. I added a piece of scrap cardstock between the two halves to make it easier to move the panels around, and then added a piece of Diagonal multi-colored washi tape in my stash for the purple vertical stripe called for in the sketch, tucking the top and bottom edges behind the panel. I then glued the stitched and stamped panel onto the larger split panel.
The sentiment also came from the Warmest Wishes stamp set, again stamped with more of the Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink and heat embossed with Ranger's Holographic embossing powder. The sentiment was trimmed with my paper trimmer and then added more of the Whisper Color Fuse Ink around the edges of the sentiment strip. This was glued onto the card to serve as the smaller horizontal strip on the bottom right part of the card. Sequins from Catherine Pooler's Zermatt sequin mix were added to the bottom left part of the card, behind the sentiment strip and as snowflakes on the card panel. Finally, the whole thing was glued onto an A2-sized white card base.
We hope you are able to join us this week on Try Stampin' on Tuesday. Thanks for reading!
