Try Stampin' on Tuesday #585

Try Stampin' on Tuesday #585

Hello friends! Today at Try Stampin' on Tuesday's Challenge #585 we have another fun sketch to share with you and a wonderful optional theme--non traditional Christmas!

Supplies used:

Card #1

To begin, I die cut a piece of watercolor paper with one of the mid-sized dies from Scrapbook.com's Nested Fancy Circle Borders Decorative Die Set and used the die cut inside circle to create the embossed circle on the card. Before embossing, I added some of the Ruby Red ink from Altenew over part of the Simon Says Stamps' Filigree Snowflakes embossing folder and then lightly spraying the paper before putting it in the embossing folder and running it through my die cutting machine. After taking the embossed circle out, I ink blended around the edges with Coral Berry ink from Altenew. I colored the center part of the snowflake with my purple Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker and then sprayed it with water to move the color a little. Finally, I added some gold with my Gansai Tambi Gem Colors watercolor set in the circles, the center part of the snowflake and with some splatters over the whole circle. This was then put to the side.

Next came the background panel. The pink and red patterned paper came from the Die Cuts With a View's Holiday Cheer Collection die cut with the second-largest stitched rectangular die from Gina K Design's Master Layout 2 die set. Next, I die cut a piece of purple foil paper from Idea-ology's Tim Holtz Jewels Metallic Kraft Stock with the largest die from the Master Layout 2 die set. I added a strip of Alexandra Renke's Gold Stripes washi tape vertically down the left side of the smaller panel of patterned paper to mimic the sketch and then glued the two panels of paper together. The circular embossed watercolor paper onto the panel on the right side of the panel. A piece of sparkly pink washi tape was added as part of the sketch on the bottom part of the panel, torn roughly along both edges. A piece of a holiday sentiment washi tape was added over the right side of the pink washi tape. Sequins from Catherine Pooler's Vegas, Baby!  and Wintergreen sequin mixes were glued to the card. Finally, the whole thing was glued onto an A2-sized white cardbase.

Card #2

This card was created in a similar fashion as the first. This card features Simon Says Stamps' Delicate Pine Branches embossing folder, with Uncharted Mariner Distress Ink directly added to the folder before running it through my die cutting machine with some pre-sprayed circular die cut watercolor paper. After the panel came out, I ink blended the branches with Lucky Clover Distress Oxide and then heat embossed them with Ranger's Holographic embossing powder. Gold watercolor from the Gansai Tambi Gem Colors watercolor set was painted around the edge and splattered across the embossed circle.

The background panels were die cut with the largest two die cuts from Gina K Design's Master Layout 2 die set--the matte layer out of blue mirrored paper in my stash and the top layer out of light blue and white patterned paper in my stash. This time the vertical stripe was created by adding two pieces of blue grid washi tape onto the left side of the top panel. After gluing the panels and the circle down, some light blue glitter washi tape was roughly ripped and then added to the card panel along the bottom for the bottom strip of the sketch. Again, a piece of the sentiment washi tape was added over the light blue washi tape. Sequins from Catherine Pooler's Portland and Wintergreen sequin mixes were glued onto the car. Finally the whole thing was glued onto a sparkly green A2-sized card base.

We hope you are able to join us this week on Try Stampin' on Tuesday. Thanks for reading!
