Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper December Challenge

Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper November Challenge

Hello crafty friends! Over at Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge, the only rule is to use your patterned paper. As always, I try to make sure that my design team card really showcases some amazing patterned paper. This month I made 2.5 design team cards that really showcase some cool patterned paper.

Supplies used:

Card #1

This card started with the background panel. The top panel was die cut out of some patterned paper from Simple Stories' Mix and A-Mingle Collection with the second-largest stitched rectangular die from Gina K Design's Master Layout 2 die set and a piece of gold glitter cardstock was die cut with the largest die from the same set. The two panels were glued together and set aside to dry.

The stamped stars came from Hero Art's Holiday Sparkles stamp set stamped with Delicata Champagne ink on watercolor paper and then they were heat embossed with Ranger's Holographic embossing powder. I then colored in the stars with a variety of Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and Karin Brushmarker Pro markers and then sprayed them with water to help blend the colors. After everything dried, the stars were die cut with their corresponding dies

A sentiment from the same Holiday Sparkles stamp set was stamped on a piece of another piece of patterned paper from the  Mix and A-Mingle Collection with Catherine Pooler's Sea Glass inks. The patterned paper was trimmed with my paper cut and then the edges were painted with green watercolor from the Gansai Tambi Gem Colors watercolor set.

To assemble the card, I roughly ripped the edges of a leftover strip of red patterned paper from one of the other cards you will see below as well as some red glitter washi tape and they were glued onto the bottom third of the patterned paper panel. Next, the sentiment strip was glued on top of the washi tape and paper strip. The three stars were glued onto the card panel. Green and gold watercolor was splattered over the whole card panel. Sequins from Catherine Pooler's Wintergreen sequin mix and HAI Supply's Enchanted Sea sequin mix. The whole thing was then glued onto an A2-sized white card base.

Card #2

This second card started with the die cut panel pieces. In this case, I die cut a piece of bingo patterned paper from the same Simple Stories' Mix and A-Mingle Collection with the second-largest stitched rectangular die from the Gina K Design's Master Layout 2 die set and a piece of red and white patterned paper was die cut with the largest die in the set. The two panels were glued together. I then trimmed the holiday bingo sentiment from the same paper pack at an angle to follow the diagonal lines on the patterned paper and to make the left and right edges end at the same place as the top panel. I also cut a strip of the red and white patterned paper. I added a piece of red glitter washi tape diagonally to the bottom part of the top card panel, followed by the red patterned paper which was glued over the washi tape at a different angle so you can see more of the washi tape on the right side than the left. Finally, I glued the sentiment strip over the red patterned paper. I splattered green and gold watercolor from the Gansai Tambi Gem Colors watercolor set over the whole panel as well as painting the edges of the top panel with more of the green watercolor.

Some of the smaller stars from the Hero Art's Holiday Sparkles stamp set were stamped on some leftover watercolor paper (the two stars on the right) and striped patterned paper with Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink and heat embossed with Ranger's Holographic embossing powder. The two stars on the watercolor paper were colored in with a couple of different red Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then were sprayed with water to move the color. After the water had dried, all three stars were colored with a Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll pen and then die cut with their corresponding dies. They were then glued to the card base around the sentiment. Sequins from the  Catherine Pooler's Wintergreen sequin mix and HAI Supply's Enchanted Sea sequin mix were glued onto the card panel. To finish the card, the whole panel was glued onto an A2-sized white card base.

Card #3

This card was a little less focused on the patterned paper, and more on stamping, but wanted to share it with you anyway. This time I die cut a piece of watercolor paper with the second-largest stitched rectangular die from the Gina K Design's Master Layout 2 die set, and then stamped several of the stars from  Hero Art's Holiday Sparkles stamp set over the panel with Delicata Champagne ink and heat embossed it with Ranger's Holographic embossing powder. The panel was then sprayed with Technique Junkies' Mindaro and Miami Vice Shimmering Bliss Spray. After the spray had dried, the stars were colored in with a variety of green Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and Karin Brushmarker Pro markers. Finally, gold watercolor from the Gansai Tambi Gem Colors watercolor set were splattered over the whole card panel. The sentiment from  Hero Art's Holiday Sparkles stamp set was stamped in the center right part of the panel with Catherine Pooler's Sea Glass ink and then heat embossed with Ranger's Holographic embossing powder.

Next came the die cut stars, stamped with  Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink and heat embossed with Holographic embossing powder on watercolor paper. They were then die cut with their corresponding dies. I then colored in the stars. The large star was colored with a green Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker in the center part of the star and then sprayed with water. While wet, some of the green was pulled to the edges of the star with a brush. After everything dried, the very center of the star and the teardrop shapes were painted in with green watercolor from the Gem Colors watercolor set. The middle star was painted with gold watercolor from the Gem Colors watercolor set. Finally, the smallest star was colored in with a turquoise Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker. An extra layer of scrap cardstock die cut with the corresponding dies was glued behind each of the stars before they were glued onto the card panel.

To assemble the card, sequins from Catherine Pooler's Crater Lake sequin mix were glued onto the card panel. The whole panel was then glued onto a piece of patterned paper that was die cut out of the largest die in the Gina K Design's Master Layout 2 die set at an angle so we can see the green and white snowflake paper peeking out from behind the front panel. The whole card panel was then glued onto an A2-sized white card base. Finally, a little extra sparkle was added to the card by painting the edges of the card base with gold watercolor from the Gem Colors watercolor set and then gold and green watercolor from the same watercolor set were splattered across the whole card base.
