Try Stampin' on Tuesday #563

Try Stampin' on Tuesday #563

Hello friends! Today at Try Stampin' on Tuesday's Challenge #563 we another wonderful sketch for us to play with and possibly use up some of the paper scraps that we all hold onto for a special occasion.

Supplies used:

Card #1

To begin, I went through some of my paper scraps to find scraps that went together and helped me decide on my color scheme of blues and purples. I trimmed two scraps of paper to be the same size for the top two horizontal strips. I ran the middle strip thought my die cutting machine with Altenew's Mod Squares embossing folder for some texture. To make the background panel, I cut out two pieces of patterned paper in my stash--one to be the vertical piece of the panel, and the other to become the main background panel base.I glued the blue patterned paper on the right side of the base and then glued the top two strips to mimic the sketch. I decided to add a piece of gold glitter washi tape for the bottom horizontal strip. After letting this dry for a few minutes, I die cut the whole thing with the second-largest stitched rectangle die from Gina K Design's Master Layout 2 die set. I then ink blended around the edges with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide. I then die cut a piece of navy patterned paper with the largest die from the same Master Layout 2 die set. The two panels were glued together and set them aside to dry.

Next, I moved onto the flowers. I die cut a piece of watercolor paper with Simon Says Stamp's Etched Flower Buds die. I then colored the stems with a green Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker and the flowers with a light blue marker. I then decided to ink blend over the blue flowers with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide and then glued this onto the background panel.

Simon Says Stamp's Sending Smiles was die cut out of Tessler's NACRE-CIRCLE Paper and then glued onto the panel. I punched out some hearts with Ek Tools’ Confetti Hearts  punch from a variety of papers (blue ink blended paper left over from a previous project, more of the Tessler paper, and purple washi tape on paper). These hearts were then glued to the bottom of the panel. I then decided to splatter some Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide mixed with water and gold watercolor from Gansai Tambi Gem Colors watercolor set onto the card. Sequins from Simon Says Stamps Lilac Blooms sequin mix were then glued onto the card panel. Finally, the whole card panel was glued to an A2-sized white card base.

Card #2

This card was created in a very similar fashion as the first, with three strips of patterned paper instead of two + washi tape. I decided to flip the flower bud die so that I added the revrese to the card base after watercoloring the flowers with turquoise Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker. This time when I ran the top strip of paper through my die cutting machine with Altenew's Mod Squares embossing folder, I sprayed the folder with Technique Junkies' Ocean Depth Shimmering Bliss sprays to add a little more color and sparkle to the patterned paper. I also ink blended around the purple strips with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide and the blue papers with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide. Finally, I popped up the top flower with some foam squares for a little more dimension.

We hope you are able to join us this week on Try Stampin' on Tuesday. Thanks for reading!
