Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper August Challenge

Hello friends! Over at Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge, the only rule is to use your patterned paper.

Supplies used:

Card #1

I die cut a piece of insect paper with the second-largest stitched rectangle die from Gina K Design's Master Layout 2 die set and then heat embossed the edges with Ranger's Gold embossing powder. Next, I die cut a piece of light green patterned paper with the largest die from the same Master Layout 2 die set. The two layers were glued together set aside to dry. Next, I pulled a piece of polkadotted green and white paper and die cut it with an A2-sized die. I ink blended around the edges of that die cut panel with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide. The other two panels (the insect panel and the matte layer) were glued onto that polkadotted panel.

The sentiment was created by spraying Technique Junkies' Vivid Volt Shimmering Bliss Spray onto watercolor paper. After it dried, I stamped the word hello from The Ton Stamps' Second Edition Fill It In Sentiments stamp set with Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink and then heat embossed with Ranger's Holographic embossing powder. Next, I addeed the "sending you a" with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide and then heat embossed with more of the Holographic embossing powder. After trimming the watercolor paper to just a tiny bit larger than the sentiment itself, I ink blended around the edges again with more of the Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide.

Before attaching the sentiment to the background panel, I added a piece of light blue glitter washi tape so that it would peek out from the bottom of the sentiment strip and then trimmed the edges so the were flush with the polkadotted base panel. Next, I attached the sentiment to the background panels with Altenew's Instant Dimension Foam Tape. Then blue, green and yellow sequins from Catherine Pooler's Blackfoot River sequin mix were glued behind the sentiment.

To finish the card, I glued the whole thing onto an A2-sized white card base and splattered some Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide mixed with water over the whole panel.

Card #2

This card was made in basically the same way with a vertical orientation. I didn't add the third layer of the panel and this time I added a small strip of gold glitter cardstock to the bottom of the sentiment (rather than washi tape).
