Celebrate!

Celebrate!

Hello all! Today I wanted to share a card I made for the Modsquad Challenge's current theme of It's a celebration and Simon Says Stamp's  Monday Challenge (Party!) and Wednesday Challenge (It's time to party!). I had a lot of fun playing with this older stamp set from My Favorite Things and a sentiment from Pinkfresh Studios.

Supplies used:

To start, I die cut a piece of smooth white cardstock with the second largest stitched die from Gina K's Master Layout 2 die set and then sprayed it with Mardi Gras and Thulian Pink Shimmering Bliss sprays and allowed it to dry. Then I stamped a a variety of fireworks images from the Fireworks stamp set in Purple Delight ink and heat embossed them with Holographic embossing powder. Then I went back and stamped the second layer for most of the fireworks with more of the same ink and heat embossed with Vintage Pearl embossing powder. This process was repeated a few times to cover the whole panel. I then die cut two pieces of scrap cardstock with the same Gina K die and glued all 3 layers together for dimension and set them aside to dry.

Next, I turned to the background (matte) layer of gold glitter cardstock, which was cut out with the largest die from the Gina K set. Again, I cut two additional layers of scrap cardstock with the same die and glued all three layers together and set them aside.

The sentiment came from the Pinkfresh Studio's My Favorite Things to Say stamp set and was stamped with Twilight VersaFine Clair ink and then heat embossed with more Holographic powder. Then I die cut the sentiment with a small circular die in my stash and then ink blended with more of the Purple Delight ink around the circle. I then ran my ink pad around the edge of the circle and then heat embossed the edge with more Holographic powder.

Then I stamped two stars--one with more of the same gold glitter paper as was used with the matte layer, and another with some Tesller Crafts' NACRE Circle paper.

To assemble the card, I glued the two stars on the bottom third of the fireworks stamped panel. I then attached the sentiment with some foam tape on the bottom right corner. Next, I added some sequins around the card. I then glued the purple fireworks panel to the gold glitter matte layer and glued the whole thing to an off-white A2 card base in my stash.

Thanks for reading!
