Altenew December Challenge

Image
Altenew December Challenge Hello all! Today I am excited to share the cards that I made for the Altenew December Challenge (where we get to pick one of the inspiration images from the past year) to make a card based on the January 2021 inspiration photo. I loved the color combination of red/dark pink, light pink and brown since I got some pretty cool new items from Altenew that I thought would work well for this color scheme. And since the theme over at Modsquad Challenge this week is What's new? (and can include showing off some of our new crafty presents from the holidays), I thought I would enter it over there as well. Finally, this set of cards was a part of the the "homework" for my level 1 certification for Altenew's Educator Certification Program (AECP) focusing on the Celebration: Stencil Techniques class so I wanted to show you how I made three backgrounds (two that were used for today's cards, and one in reserve for later). Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #452

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #452 Hello friends! I hope you are having a wonderful week. I made these cards on the last days of work for me in 2021 and this post was written on the morning on the last day of school (I teach at a local high school), so if I come across as punchy or silly, please excuse it. Sadly, we have two colleagues who have had to recently go on long term medical leave, and so we are all sending them cards before we go away for a break to let them know that we are thinking about them. So I decided to use this sketch to make them. I decided to go with bright, happy butterflies and hearts to hopefully bring a smile to their day. I hope you like them and consider playing along with us over at Atlantic Hearts this week. Supplies used: Stamps: Simon Says Stamp's Butterfly Kisses stamp and die bundle, Altenew's Watercolor Dots Stamp Set Dies: Gina K's Master Layout 7 die set, Simon Says Stamp's Butterfly Kisses stamp and die bundle Punch: Ek Tools’

National Hot Cocoa Day Card

National Hot Cocoa Day Card Hello friends! Today's cards were inspired by the National Hot Cocoa Day challenge over the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog. I had a lot of fun playing with this beautiful die set by The Ton stamps and finishing up Holiday cards and thinking about cards for Valentine's Day for my kids (they are both big Hot Chocolate fans, and would love these cards). To be honest, I made a few other cards like these earlier last week right before the announcement for this challenge was announced, so I hope that it okay to make similar cards for this challenge that were created after the challenge was announced (fingers crossed). Supplies used:  Stamps:Lawn Fawn's Thanks a Latte stamp set Dies: The Ton's Holiday Coffee Dies , Gina K's Master Layout 2 die set, Simon Says Stamp's Mini Snowflake Mandala die Paper: Simon Says Stamp White Glitter Cardstock, smooth white cardstock, previously alcohol inked Yupo paper, glitter cardstock in my stash, pat
