Winter Wishes

Winter Wishes

Hello friends! My younger kiddo wanted to make Holiday cards for all of their classmates, so we are getting our craftiness on with some critter holiday cards. I decided to share them over at a few challenges: CAS Christmas and Modsquad Animal Themed Holiday challenge.

Supplies used:

To make the cards, I stamped the same 4 animals and tree onto pieces of watercolor paper with Morning Mist VersaFine Clair and heat embossing them with Holographic embossing powder. Then we die cut the images with the Mini slimline Blanket Stitched Essential Die. We then colored the trees and animals with a variety of Zig markers. On the card above I then ink blended some blue ink that was still on my foam blender over the top of the scene and then added Gold embossing powder around the edges with the help of Frost VersaMark Dazzle ink.

I added some gold washi tape across the card panel and glued the card panel to a mini-slimline card base. At this point, I realized that I had smudged the sentiment, so stamped and heat embossed it again on a separate piece of paper and then cut it out with my paper trimmer. I then used my Paper Distresser to distress the edges and then inked around the edges with Catherine Pooler's Cummerbund ink. I glued a couple of pieces of scrap paper behind the sentiment and then glued the whole thing onto the card base.

To finish the card, I splattered some gold watercolor from the Starry Colors watercolor set across the whole thing and added clear gems from Honey Bee Stamp onto the tree and in between the squirrel's hands.

The other two cards were created in a similar fashion with some changes in color and washi tape. Now we only have about 17 more to go!

Thanks for reading!
