Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge #535

Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge #535

Hello friends! Today's card is my first as a new Design Team Member at Try Stampin' on Tuesday (challenge #535) and hope that you can join us with this sketch. My card allowed me to create another Valentine's Day card for the Valentine's for Seniors card drive.

Supplies used:

This card was easy to make, but took some patience as there was lots of drying time! I started out by die cutting 6 layers for each of the larger 3 flowers (pink, yellow and purple)--each has 2 layers of patterned paper that matched the Yupo paper and 4 layers of Yupo paper. I sprayed each of the patterned paper layers with Perfect Pearls mists after die cutting them with the Fresh Florals Edition 3 die. Meanwhile I started gluing the layers of Yupo together in pairs-- for example, I glued the top two layers (smaller petals) together and the two bottom Yupo (eventually the middle two layers of the whole flower) together. After the glue holding the Yupo layers together, I melted the edges of the flowers so the Yupo would curl. I then glued all of the layers of each of the flowers (6 for the pink, yellow and purple flowers and 4 for the coral flower) together.

While the flowers dried, I worked on the rest of the elements of the card. First, I die cut a piece of green foil paper with the Brutus Monroe Circle die.  Then I stamped a sentiment from Lawn Fawn's My Silly Valentine stamp set on a light brown patterned piece of paper in my stash and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder from Ranger. I then cut  the paper with a wide sentiment strip die in my stash and then trimmed the sides so I can (mostly) fit it on the cardbase. I added some additional layers of scrap paper behind the sentiment strip for dimension and strength. Finally, I added more embossing powder around the edges of the sentiment.

Then I started assembling the card. I glued the background die cut to a kraft A2-sized cardbase and then glued the pink and coral flowers to mimic the sketch. The yellow and purple flowers were attached with Altenew's Instant Dimension foam tape. Finally, the sentiment was added with glue.

Thanks for reading!
