Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #448

 Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #448

Hello! We have a great sketch challenge over at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Blog. I took this as an opportunity to go into my stash and pull out some patterned paper to use on the card.

I also decided to use this sketch to start my stash of Valentine's Day cards for the Valentine's for Seniors card drive, affiliated with a cause that I love donating cards to--Bring Smiles to Seniors).

Supplies used:

When I sat down to create the card, I decided to substitute the dark brown squares in the sketch for hearts to make it fit with the Valentines’ Day theme. I started out using both the Confetti Heart and 1” Square punch on a variety of Valentine’s Day paper in my stash. Then I die cut a piece of silver paper (an old fancy envelope) that was also in my stash with a background die. I also cut three strips of patterned paper with a paper trimmer and distressed the edges with my distresser. I stamped a sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Let’s Toast stamp set onto the lightest strip of paper with Coral Cabana Catherine Pooler ink and went over it with the Clear Glitter Gelly Roll Pen. (I decided to not add a second sentiment as the pink strip of paper is full of sentiments already so left it as is!)

Then I started to assemble the card. I glued the background panel to an A2-sized cardbase and then decided to enhance the silver by adding an additional border of silver embossing powder and then adding random splatters around the cardbase. Next, I glued all of the squares, the top two strips and the top most heart to the cardbase and then added the bottom three cards with foam tape. I then added the bottom strip with more foam tape.

To finish the card, I added one of the smaller hearts created with the confetti punch, a smaller white sequin and a puffy gray and purple heart sticker in my stash on the bottom left corner of the card.

Thanks for reading!
