My 600th card this year: A very cool Happy Birthday Card
Hello friends! Today's card was inspired by a few challenges: Freshly Made Sketches #504, Color Throwdown #661, Seize the Birthday #223, and Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge (Stitch It!). I like to keep track of the number of cards I make, and this card is #600 for the year for me! My goal at the beginning of the year was 300, and I have had to revise that goal a few times this year--it has been very therapeutic and fun for me to make these cards and have something that I made hopefully make someone else smile. I hope that you like this card-it is going to be going out to a family member in October.
Supplies used:
- Ink: Hickory Smoke Distress Ink
- Dies: Simon Says Stamp's Painted Happy Birthday wafer die, Pink & Main's Beautiful Slimline dies (for the background
- Sequins: Simon Says Stamp's Holiday Party sequin mix
- Paper: Black foil paper from Concord & 9th's Formals Foil Paper Pack, patterned paper in my stash
- Washi tape: gunmetal/dark silver sparkly washi tape
- Bearly Art precision craft glue
To make this card, I used the Pink & Main's Beautiful Slimline die set's two slimline rectangular-ish stitched dies to cut some background paper. I cut two layers of paper for both the larger die and the smaller die and glued all the layers together with some glue. I ran my Hickory Smoke Distress Ink around the edge of the larger piece of paper to make a border. I then added a piece of the sparkly washi tape across the whole panel to mimic the sketch challenge. Next, I die cut the sentiment using a piece of the Black foil paper and glued it over the washi tape. I then added some white and silver/iridescent sequins from the Simon Says Stamp sequin mix across the whole card for a little extra bling. To finish the card, I glued the whole thing to a white slimline cardbase.
I liked this card as it is a more gender neutral or masculine card (something that I struggle with) and that I was able to used this happy birthday music paper from my stash! I hope that you like this card, too.
