Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #440

 Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #440

Hello friends! Today's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (#440)  gave me the excuse to play with a Stamptember stamp collaboration between Simon Says Stamps and Reverse Confetti and create a pretty fall card. I hope you play along with us!

Supplies used:

To start this card, I stamped the floral image as well as the two individual flowers from the Reverse Confetti stamp with Nocturne VersaFine Clair and heat embossed them with Holographic embossing powder. I then used my Karin markers to color in the flowers (the canary and gold colors were blended together) and then diluted some of the green color by painting the leaves with a wet brush. To color in the water in the vase, I mixed some Arctic Blue Karin marker with a little Atlantic Burst Shimmer Powder and water to make the color a little more green and sparkly. I used this blue-green mixture to watercolor the water in the vase. The centers of the flowers were colored with some Ground Espresso Distress Ink that I mixed with water on a piece of plastic and watercolored the centers. After they dried, the images were then die cut with their corresponding die. I then placed the two separate flowers over the larger image with foam tape to make the two individual flowers pop.

Then I moved on to the background. I used the Great Circle die to cut out 2 pieces of paper in my stash: a piece of copper paper and orange paper. I glued the two layers together with the orange layer peeking out a little so we can see both colors. Then I used the largest square stitched die from the Pinkfresh Diagonal Stitched Square die set to cut three pieces of paper: 2 pieces of scrap cardstock, and one piece of tan patterned paper. I glued the three layers so we can see the tan layer and then applied some Copper embossing powder to create an additional border around the edges. Next, I cut a piece of white patterned paper with cute little animals with the second largest square die from the Pinkfresh set and glued it over the larger square. This was set aside to dry.

The sentiment was made with one of the sentiments from the Autumn Blessings set that was stamped with more Nocturne VersaFine Clair and heat embossed with more Holographic embossing powder. The largest stitched flag die from Gina K's Master Layout 2 die set was used to cut it out. I then ink blended some Mustard Seed Distress Ink around the edges of the die.

Next, I moved onto the card base. I ink blended the edges of the white A2-sized base with Mustard Seed Distress Ink. I then gathered two strips of patterned paper from my stash (actually small strips leftover from my paper trimmer) and a piece of washi tape and glued them across the center of the card to mimic the sketch.

To assemble the card, I glued the square onto the card base, and then glued the circle die cuts to the lower right part of the square. I added foam tape behind the sentiment and floral image and added them to the card, moving the flowers a little to the right of center to make room for the sentiment. I splattered some Mustard Seed and Ground Espresso Distress Ink over the card and then added some yellow gem stickers from Honey Bee Stamps to finish the card.

Thanks for reading!
