A Butterfly Sketch

 A Butterfly Sketch

Hello friends! Today I wanted to share a card I made for a few challenges: Color Throwdown #660, Modsquad Challenge: Butterflies and Retro Rubber Challenge #167.

RRCB 167

Supplies used:

To make the card, I cut a piece of green and orange patterned paper and cut it with the largest die from Gina K's Master Layout 2 die set, and then ran the same paper through my die cut machine again with the Stitched Strip die from My Favorite Things. Then I sprayed that paper with Gold Shimmering Bliss Spray. Next, I die cut a piece of white foil paper with the second largest stitched die from the Master Layout set (and then die cut it again to trim it to show more of the green paper). I then ran the same white foil paper through the die cut machine a third time with the Twirling Flurries die. After the Gold Shimmering Bliss had dried, I glued the two background papers together and set aside.

Next, I die cut two pieces of patterned paper (a light green and dark blue) with the Great Circle die, and then sprayed the blue paper with more Gold Shimmering Bliss spray and after it dried, glued the two circles together so that we can see the green paper peek out a little from behind the blue. This glued over the background papers.

Then I worked on the butterflies. I stamped the butterflies on Yupo paper that was previously colored with orange alcohol ink and another with blues and green alcohol ink with the Butterflies sentiment and heat embossed with gold embossing powder from Ranger. I then melted the edges of the butterflies' wings to help them curl. I then glued them over the circle die cuts. I then pulled a leftover sentiment that I had previously made with the Just Because Word Mix 2 stamp and die set and directly inked the edges of the sentiment with Summertime VersaFine Clair ink and attached to the panel with foam tape.

To assemble the card, I attached the whole card panel to an A2-sized white cardbase. I splattered some gold watercolor from the Starry Colors watercolor set and added some orange sticker gems.

Thanks for reading!
