Happy Fall!

 Happy Fall!

Hello friends! Today I wanted to share 2 cards I made that were inspired by Double Trouble Challenge #91"Scrapper's Trail Mix" and Color My Heart's Color Dare #458. These challenges "forced" me to look deep in a box of fall patterned paper, where I found my Lawn Fawn Thanks A Latte stamp and die set, and so decided to use them for this these cards. I also rediscovered some patterned paper that I had forgotten that I had in my stash!

To make both cards, I started with a identifying patterned paper that I wanted to use for the card as they were integral to the Double Trouble challenge and I hoped would help figure out some of the colors for the Color Dare challenge as well. As I said above, I rediscovered some that I had in my fall stash, including the blue polka-dotted paper that is a really close match to the Glacier color. I went with that and a piece of brown plaid paper for both background panels. Next, I pulled out a leftover piece of pink paper that I had previously sprayed with some Shimmering Bliss Spray in Harvest Sunset for a previous project that is a close match for the Desert Rose color. I also grabbed a piece of white patterned paper with different colored hearts on it that would work for the Blue Belle and possibly the Peacock colors. While digging around and getting the paper ready, I also cut a strip of both the blue and brown plaid's reverse patterns papers (the pink strip with dark pink hearts that are close to the Cinnamon color and a dark brown and really dark brown stripe).

Once I found all the paper that I wanted to use, I started stamping. I stamped the two cups found in the Thanks A Latte set on the pink and heart patterned papers and heat embossed them with Gold heat embossing powder from Ranger. I then also stamped both cups onto white cardstock with Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide and then added the latte foam in both cups with more of the Gathered Twigs. These were heat embossed with Holographic embossing powder from Ranger for a little sparkle. All 4 of the cups were die cut with the corresponding die cuts. Then I fussy cut the patterned paper cups so that I could layer the two layers of each cup together and you can see the latte in the cup and glued the whole thing together. I then stamped the sentiment with more of the Gathered Twigs ink on white cardstock. I stamped a heart and leaf from the Thanks A Latte set with more of the Gathered Twigs Oxide and heat embossed with more of the Holographic embossing powder. I colored the heart and leaf with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, blending the colors to match the Sundance and Cinnamon colors.

Next, I started die cutting! I started with the two background panels using the largest two dies from Gina K's Master Layout 2 die set. I sprayed the smaller paper (in this case the blue polka dotted paper) with more of the Harvest Sunset Shimmering Bliss Spray and put it aside to dry. Then I die cut out the sentiment with the smallest stitched flag die from the Gina K Master Layout 2, and then die cut the brown patterned paper you see in the background panel with the larger stitched flag die from the same die set. I also die cut out the heart and leaf with their corresponding die cuts.

To assemble the card, I glued the two background panel pieces together, then glued the pink (large) cup onto the panel. Next, I added the smaller curved cup and heart with foam tape to overlap the larger cup. Then I added a sparkly gold washi tape to the lower third part of the panel. I glued the pink strip over the washi tape, then trimmed the dark brown paper and added a fish tail to both sides of the strip and glued that over the pink strip. Next, I glued the larger stitched flag die cut and the sentiment over them as well.  Then I glued the leaf onto the sentiment strip. Finally, I added some clear gems from Honey Bee Stamps.

I then placed the whole panel onto an A2-sized white card base with more foam tape.

This second card was made using the same manner, basically with the opposite color scheme.

Thanks for reading!
