Craft Roulette #76
Hello friends! Craft Roulette
is a weekly live YouTube crafting event! This week, Mary Gunn watched
with the rest of us while three guest crafters made a card using the 4
randomly-selected parameters. Episode 76's parameters were:
Project: Your favorite card
Colors: Vintage
Element: Summer Sports
Random: Weaving
Supplies used:
Stamps: None
Dies: Honey Bee Stamp's Bicycle Builder Honey Cuts, Simon Says Stamps' Strips 2 (for thicker vertical part of the weave, an A2-sized rectangular die in my stash
Paper: Patterned
papers in my stash, white cardstock for the background panel
Ink: Tea Dye Distress Ink
Sprays: Altenew's Iridescent Shimmer Ink Spray (for the bike)
Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi Starry Colors watercolor set
To make this card, I started by gathering paper from my stash that fit the Vintage color scheme of muted colors. I then die cut out the parts of the bike (one of my favorite summer sports), making sure to cut out the body of the bike 3 times so I could glue the layers together for dimension and strength. I then sprayed the body, handle bars and wheel of the bike to add shine. I then die cut a piece of white cardstock with the A2-sized die and ran it through my die cutting machine with the stencil to add texture. (It is very subtle, and you really can't see it in the pictures.) I then wove the strips of paper and the washi tape together and glued them to the white card panel. I then glued the bike together and added it to the card base with more liquid glue. I then directly added some Distress Ink around the border of the white card base. Then I flicked random gold splatters across the card. To finish the card, I added a few light green gems to the corner of the card and glued the whole thing onto an A2 (my favorite) cardbase.
