Can't have enough sparkly holiday cards

Can't have enough sparkly holiday cards

Hello friends! I have been trying to make a holiday cards slowly this year, and this wonderful sketch felt like a great excuse to make another one. Throw in an excuse to use some paper in my stash? Perfection! Thanks Make the Cards Challenge #30!

Supplies used:

  • Stamps: Hero Arts' Stamp & Cut Wishes set

  • Dies:  Hero Arts' Stamp & Cut Wishes set, Simon Says Stamp's Snowflake Mandala die, Gina K's Master Layout 2 set (stitched flag for the sentiment), Simon Says Stamp Strips 2 die set (only the larger die) and an A2-sized rectangular stitched die in my stash (for the background panel)

  • Paper: Patterned papers in my stash, pastel purple and gold paper from the Pastel Foil Cardstock Paper pack, white cardstock for the base and sentiment

  • Ink: Spun Sugar Distress Ink

  • Gold embossing powder from Ranger

  • Sprays: Frost Sheer Shimmer Spritz

  • Foam tape and liquid glue

  • Stencil: A stencil from my stash with multiple tree rings
  • Gold sparkly washi tape
  • Snowflake dimensional stickers in my stash
  • Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi Starry Colors watercolor set

To make this card, I spent some more quality time with my die cut machine. I die cut out the three strips of background paper, the snowflake, the card panel and the word wishes (three times-once with gold foil paper, once with the same orange and pink paper found in one of the background strips, and once with the same dark blue snowflake paper in the center strip). I then sprayed the white and pink/orange background strips with the Frost spray and put them aside to dry. Next, I embossed the background paper with the tree ring stencil (sorry it is hard to see in the pictures).
I stamped the word wishes from the Hero Arts wishes stamp set, heat embossed with the gold embossing powder, and then die cut it with the Gina K Master Layout 2's smallest stitched flag die. Then I glued the three layers of the wishes sentiment to each other, off setting them so you can see all three layers.

To assemble the card, I added a piece of gold sparkly washi tape behind each of the card strips used for the sketch and then glued down the strips with liquid glue. Next, I glued down the snowflake die and the wishes die cut sentiment. I added two layers of scrap cardstock behind the word winter and then glued the whole thing down with liquid glue.Next, I added some random splatters of Spun Sugar Distress Ink (mixed with water) and gold watercolor across the card for more sparkle. Then I directly added some more Spun Sugar ink around the border of the background panel. Finally I added a couple of snowflake dimensional stickers and Vegas, Baby! sequins onto the card---a couple to cover small smudges that I left on the card. I added foam tape behind the card panel and then added the whole thing to a white A2-sized card base.
