Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #436

 Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #436

Hello friends! Today I am excited to share my card inspired by Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #436. As I make this card, we are definitely transitioning out of summer and into fall, and wanted to reflect that with this card. I was excited to use a stamp I had waiting to be used in my stash: Neat and Tangled's Hello Fall as well as die cuts to make this card. My family is currently wondering at what point will I have more of the card hanging off the card rather than inside the card's dimensions...

I used a variety of dies for today's card:

To make the card, I spent some quality time with my die cutting machine, cutting out the parts of the flowers (with red, pink and orange patterned paper in my stash as well as some Yupo paper that had yellow, pink, and orange alcohol ink on it), the greenery (cutting out green patterned paper in my stash), and the wood planks (white cardstock). The patterned paper and the white planks were sprayed with some Shimmering Bliss sprays as well as other sparkly sprays in my stash. I sprayed the pink paper with Festive Flamingo Shimmering Bliss, the orange paper was sprayed with Just Squeezed Shimmering Bliss Spray, the red paper was sprayed with Wine Stain Shimmering Bliss Spray. The background diamond and the wood planks were sprayed with Mixed Metals Shimmering Bliss Topper. I sprayed the greens with Heidi Swapp spray in sea foam and Altenew's Mountain Mist Metallic Shimmer Ink Spray.

While the paper was drying, I used my heat embossing tool on the edges of the Yupo paper to curl and melt the edges the flowers. Then as the flowers dried, I glued them together, with 2-3 layers for each flower. I tried to curl the edges of all of the patterned paper flowers to help them curl as well. I added some gems from Honey Bee Stamps in the center of each flower.

To make the sentiment, I stamped two words from the Hello Fall stamp set from Neat and Tangled and then heat embossed with some Ranger gold embossing powder. I then die cut the sentiment with one of the medium-sized Pinkfresh Studio Diagonal Stitched Squares dies.

To assemble the card, I attached the sentiment and the slightly larger orange square "frame" with some foam tape. Then I used some tape to hold the greens onto the back of the diamond. Next, I glued down the wood planks to a white A2-sized card base, making sure that the planks were lined up without any spaces in between them. The diamond and greens were glued to the planks. Next, I glued the 4 outer flowers onto the diamond (and onto the card base in some cases since they were so large). The two largest flowers were attached with two layers of foam tape to make them stand out.  To finish the card, I added some gold gems from Honey Bee Stamps
