Seize the Birthday #219

Image
Seize the Birthday #219   Hello friend! Today I wanted to share a card I made for a child's birthday with the theme of travel in mind for the Seize the Birthday #219 Challenge . It was fun playing with the new(ish)-to-me Bicycle Builder Honey Cut set from Honey Bee Stamps. I also used Gina K's Master Layout 2 die set for the background layers of the card. I spent a lot of time die cutting paper while making this card! Most of the dies used for this card were used multiple times--once for the part that you see, and two to three additional layers of scrap cardstock for dimension. So many pieces of die cut paper! So much liquid glue!    Paper used: Orange patterned paper for the bike frame and handle bars. Card stock that I colored with a black marker for the tire and the center part of the tire Simon Says Stamp's Holographic Paper for the bike spokes and handles Brown patterned paper for the bike basket Green patterned paper for the matte/border layer of the background Wh

Ladybugs are fun!

Ladybugs are fun! Hello friends! Today's card was created for two challenges: Shopping Our Stash Challenge #450 (Quit Bugging Me) and the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (anything goes). Originally, I had started planning this card with an additional challenge (Make the Cards Challenge #25: 3 flowers, 2 ladybugs, 1 sun(shine)), but missed the deadline.   This card features a retired cover panel from Reverse Confetti, Lawn Fawn's Little Fireflies stamp and die sets as well as Sizzix's Thinlits Mix and Match Flowers die set (for the flowers).  I pulled out the cover panel that was a left over from a previous project as you see it on the card-I had done some ink blending with oranges at the edges of the panel and yellow in the center of the panel to use as the sun and glued the blended paper to a yellow card base. Next, I pulled out some additional leftovers that I had made of the flowers (the leaves and the center flower). I then used some alcohol-inked Y

A Sparkly Christmas Card!

A Sparkly Christmas Card!   Hello friends! Today I wanted to share another Christmas in July cards that I am making as the month wraps up. As I started thinking about this card, I decided to combine Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge (Wild with Washi) with Double Trouble Challenge #89 and Heart 2 Heart Christmas in July Challenge and Sunday Stamps Sketch Challenge #262 . This card features Simon Says Stamp's Holiday Foliage Stencil , a bunch of Washi Tape and lots of ink blending!       I started making the card by working on the circular part of the card. My stencil was sticky from a past spray of Pixie Spray removable adhesive. First, I masked off the red berries with washi tape, and then ink blended some Spruce and Sea Glass ink from Catherine Pooler. Once I did this, I realized that I wanted to take this up a notch, and so started adding some Terre Verte Stencil Butter from The Crafter's Workshop on the pine needles and then added some Gina K Iridescent Glitz Gl

Hanukkah in July

Image
Hanukkah in July Hello friends! As July winds down, I wanted to make sure that I created some Hanukkah cards for my family and friends. So I turned to this week's Paper Players Sketch Challenge (#551) , TGIF Technique Challenge #326 (decorated envelopes) and Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge (Wild With Washi) as I started to create some Hanukkah cards.   These cards and envelopes features Lawn Fawn's Love You A Latke stamp set, as well as a lot of Washi tape! To make the card, I started out with a piece of white cardstock that I die cut with a stitched rectangular die in my stash and then stamped the Menorah and the sentiment with VersaFine Clair Ink in Twilight and heat embossed it with Holographic embossing powder from Ranger. (The sentiment was originally one connected so that it was in one line, but I cut it in half so that I could place it on two lines.) I then stamped the heart in the stamp set with Lipstick ink from Gina K and the Star of David with So

Vacation Vibes Hello friends! In this post, I wanted to share a card I made for a few stamp challenges: Color Throwdown #652 , Just Add Ink #564 , Little Red Wagon Challenge #611 (stay cool), and the Happy Little Stampers' July Stencil Challenge .   This card features The Crafter's Workshop's Mountain View (small) stencil which I colored with a variety of blue, turquoise, light brown, and green Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers . After I colored the image, I sprayed with image with Harvest Sunset Shimmering Bliss from Technique Junkies and then set the image aside to dry.  I then pulled out a light green card base and Honey Bee Stamp's Hexagon Layering Background Stencils (set of 3) to create the background of the card. I started by ink blending with some residual green ink on my foam blender and decided to go wild and add some Stencil Butter from The Crafter's Workshop in Terre Verte (a beautiful green color) and some Ivory Coast Crackle Mouse from Tonic.

Craft Roulette #71

Image
Craft Roulette #71 Craft Roulette is a weekly live YouTube crafting event! Each week, hostess Mary Gunn and a guest crafter make a card using 4 randomly-selected parameters and encourage us to play along. Episode 71's parameters were:  Project : Slimline or mini slimline card Colors : Yellows plus 2 Element : Tasty treat Random: Polka dot(s) I decided to pull out my Sweet Friends stamp and die set from Lawn Fawn and use some of my patterned paper to make this card. I used a couple of additional die sets: Gina K's  Master Layout 2 (the stitched flags I used for the sentiments) and Pink and Main's Beautiful slimline die for this card.   To make the card, I stamped and die cut the doughnut (my tasty treat) from the Sweet Friends stamp and die set multiple times in Twilight VersaFine Clair and then heat embossed with Ranger's Holographic heat embossing powder on white card stock. I then colored them in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers   (the donut

Inspire.Create.Challenge #095

Inspire.Create.Challenge #095 Hello friends! I wanted to share a quick card I made for Inspire.Create.Challenge #95 that is helped me continue my quest to reduce my paper stash this year.    This card features the Gina K's Master Layout 2 die set to trim the edges of the card panel. As I was creating the card, I also added a few layers of paper behind the circular paper to give it some dimension. In addition, I added a matte layer behind the panel that I painted with some gold watercolor from my Gansai Tambi Starry Colors watercolor set. Finally, I added some gold washi tape between the two pieces of patterned paper and some sequins from Catherine Pooler's Maui sequin mix. Thanks for reading!

A Yummy Happy Birthday Card

Image
A Yummy Happy Birthday Card Hello friends! Today I want to share a yummy happy birthday card that was inspired by four challenges this week: Freshly Made Sketches #495 , Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #105 (fun with food), Simon Says Stamp's current Monday Challenge (food and/or drink), and the current Time Out Challenge (#192-hungry). Since the three later challenges were all food-themed, I felt that they have to go together.  As I started thinking about the Freshly Made Sketch, all I could think about is my Sweet Friends stamp and die set from Lawn Fawn, and how they would make a great birthday card and the card quickly came together from there. To make the card, I started by stamping the cupcake, donut, strawberry and froyo images twice on some white card stock with Twilight VersaFine Clair and then heat embossed them with Ranger's Holographic heat embossing powder. I colored them all with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then die cut all of them out with their

Global Design Project #301

Image
Global Design Project #301 Hello friends! I have recently been enjoying die cutting alcohol inked Yupo paper into flowers and then melting those flowers to cult the petals as well as using patterned paper so I decided to feature both on this card which features the colors of  this week's Global Design Project (#301) parameters--navy, light green and pink.  One of my crafty goals this year was to use up some of the paper in my stash, and this card allowed me to work on this goal. I ended up using three pieces of pink paper (some left over pink print from my gel press, a piece of patterned paper in a pad I had bought a long time ago, and a little bit of pink alcohol-inked Yupo paper) as well as some navy shiny paper and some light green patterned paper. I was able to make the pink and green paper a little shinier with some Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Topper spray from Technique Junkies and adding a little ink. I think the card looks really pretty, and my stash is a little smaller. Take

Alcohol Ink Flowers

Alcohol Ink Flowers Hello friends! Today I wanted to share a card inspired by a few challenges: The Paper Craft Crew's Challenge #436 (a tic-tac-toe challenge), Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #430 , and the Happy Little Stampers July Anything Goes with Dies Challenge .   Today's card features an older die set from Sizzix ( Thinlits Mix and Match Flowers ), Altenew's Moroccan Mosaic stamp set as the background, and my some Alcohol inked Yupo paper. I decided to complete the Paper Craft Crew's tic-tac-toe by creating something sparkling (embossing powder, Shimmering Bliss spray, and shiny alcohol inked paper), markers (to color the middle box for the sketch) and heat embossing . To make this card, I started out by creating a background panel that I had die cut with an A2 sized-die by stamping it with the Moroccan Mosaic stamp with Delicata Ink in Celestial Copper and then heat embossed it with Holographic embossing powder from Ranger.  I then pulled out one of the

Hero Arts' Succulent Bouquet...again

Image
Hero Arts' Succulent Bouquet... again Sometimes there is a set that you know will get a lot of love and attention in your crafting, and Hero Arts' Succulent Bouquet is one of those sets for me. I have posted a few projects that I have made using this stamp and die set, and I can see myself using it more and more. I can see it as part of a more masculine card as well as my more usual sparkly/glittery/feminine/bright color cards--it is very versatile. I turned to this set again to make a card for a couple of challenges this week: Sunday Stamps Challenge #261 and Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #410 .    In addition to Hero Art's Succulent Bouquet set, this card also features A Colorful Life's Dashing Circles Stencil , Just Squeezed Shimmering Bliss and Esmeralda Green Tonic Nuvo Glimmer Paste (which seems to have been discontinued).     To make the card, I die cut a piece of cardstock with the second-largest die from Gina K's Master Layout 2 die set and spr

Let's Bee Friends!

Let's Bee Friends! Hello friends! Today I wanted to share a pretty card that I made for a few challenges: The Paper Players Challenge #550 , and CAS (Clean and Simple) Colours & Sketches Challenge #429 .         Today's card features an older die set from Sizzix ( Thinlits Mix and Match Flowers ) and Brutus Monroe's Circles Background Die as well as a cute bee from Honey Bee Stamps (it was a thank you stamp and not for sale). To make this card, I pulled out several yellow and green patterned paper from my stash and die cut them with several of the Mix and Match Flowers dies. After die cutting, I sprayed them with Dazzle Shimmering Bliss Spray and set aside to dry. After they dried, I assembled the flower by gluing a lot of layers together. I added a sequin from Catherine Pooler's Scranton sequin mix. I also die another shape from the same die set and used it to back one of the daisies in my stash (towards the bottom of the card). After layering two of
