Two birthday cards for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch
Two birthday cards for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch
My daughter is going to a few birthday parties and so I decided to make one with the sketch for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge #426. As I was planning the cards, I decided that I would use some of the washi tape that I have hoarded in my crafty space. I also decided to use my Party Panda (from 2018?) stamp and die from Lawn Fawn for the current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge (#103) and Retro Rubber Challenge #161. My daughters are super excited about cupcakes at the birthday party and consider them a summer treat! And since this is a birthday card, I decided to share this at the Addicted to Stamps and More birthday challenge (#408)
Here are the two cards that I made. My daughter helped me color the sentiment on the card for her friend. Both cards were made in a similar process: I stamped the party panda and her accessories (the cupcake, bamboo and heart word bubble), the presents from the Cheery Christmas set from Lawn Fawn and the sentiment from the Happy Happy Happy stamp and die set all in VersaFine Claire in Morning Mist and then heat embossing it with Holographic embossing powder from Ranger. After die cutting the cupcake, panda, and the sentiment (for the word birthday I used the Gina K's Master Layout 2 die set's smaller stitched flag die) and fussy cutting the heart word bubble and the presents. My daughter and I colored the images with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. Then I die cut the flags from Reverse Confetti in a variety of washi-tape covered paper: a Star Wars washi tape, a sparkly black washi tape, and a light blue washi tape. (I used the die cuts for the sentiment 3 times so I could glue them together to create dimension.)
Next, I worked on the background. I pulled out 3 additional washi tapes: a green striped washi tape, a multicolored star washi tape, and a black and bronze geometric pattern. I added the three tapes onto a piece of scrap cardstock to match the sketch. I then die cut the cardstock with the largest rectangular die from the same Master Layout 2 set that I used for the stitched flag die. Then I used another die from my stash (a repeated small circular die in a line) a few times to cut a line of small circles on the bottom part of the main panel to mimic the sketch.
Then
I assembled the card. I used liquid glue to attach the flags, and
sentiments. Then I added foam tape behind the panda, presents, heart
word bubble, and cupcake to put them in place. Finally, I added more
foam tape behind the panel and added the whole thing to a white card
base.
Card #2: The process to make this card was very similar to the first card. I used some different washi tapes, and ink blended the sentiment with some Gina K Lipstick.
I then added some pink gems from Honey Bee Stamps.
