Craft Roulette #67

 Craft Roulette #67

Craft Roulette is a weekly live YouTube crafting event! Mary Gunn and a guest create a card along with all of those following along that meet 4 randomly-selected parameters. Episode 67'ss parameters were:

Project: Slimline card

Colors: Any color but green

Element: Afternoon

Random: Foil or metallic paper

This card features Concord & 9th's Songbird stamp set, the Rolling Cloud stencil from My Favorite Things, and the sun from Altenew's All Things Orange set to represent our front yard on many a summer afternoon!

To make the card, I die cut a piece of white cardstock with the smaller Pink and Main's Beautiful slimline die, and then stamped the bird and sentiment from with Twilight VersaFine Clair and then heat embossed with Ranger's Holographic heat embossing powder. I then ink blended across the whole panel with a rainbow of inks (minus green) using the Rolling Clouds Stencil to represent the clouds on a typical afternoon here in Portland. I then stamped the sun with Sweet Mango ink from Gina K, and then went over it again with my orange Zig marker.

Next, I colored the bird with my blue, yellow, and light brown Zig Markers. I added some gold splatters from my Gansai Tambi Starry Colors watercolor set and then decided to use my finger to add some more of the gold watercolor over the sun and on some of the red and orange clouds.

Then I created the matte frame by die cutting some of Simon Says Stamp's Holographic Cardstock with the larger die from the Pink and Main die set for the metallic paper parameter.

To assemble the card, I glued the metallic paper directly to a slimline card base and then attached the smaller panel (with the bird) to the metallic paper with foam tape and and then used some liquid glue to glue some sequins from the Catherine Pooler Portland sequin mix.
