Anniversary Card

Anniversary Card

Hello friends! My parent's anniversary is coming up at the end of the month, and I thought that the parameters for the Flower Challenge #57 CAS (Clean and Simple) on Friday Challenge #207 (flowers), and CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #424.

The trickiest part of this card was blending some of my Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers to mimic the colors needed for the challenge. I ended up blending a couple of colors together to get the results that I wanted (sea forest and sweet leaf for the olive green, mango smoothie and fresh lemon for the mango melody, and cotton candy and rubellite for pink).

I started the card by die cutting a piece of watercolor paper with the largest rectangular die from Gina K's Master Layouts 2 die set. I stamped one of the larger floral images from Simon Says Stamps Stronger Together stamp set with VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne and heat embossed it with Holographic Embossing Powder from Ranger. Next, I watercolored the image with the blended watercolors and then set aside to dry.

After it dried, I stamped a sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Happy Happy Happy stamp set with my StazOn Solvent Ink in Jet Black and then added some splatters of the leftover pink watercolor across the card base.  I added three clear gems from Honey Bee Stamps underneath the sentiment.

At this point I decided the card was too plain. I know that it is supposed to be a clean and simple card, but it needed just a little more. I decided to add a border to the card using the Reverse Confetti Outlined Frame die. After die cutting, I decided to ink blend very lightly along the border using some Gina K Lipstick ink. I then glued the floral panel to the border and the whole thing to a white card base.
