A panda party birthday card!

A panda party birthday card!

So my daughter is going to a few birthday parties and we needed a few cards for her friends. Today's card was created with a few challenges in mind: Tuesday Morning Sketches #661 and the current color challenge from Just Add Ink (#560) and decided to use my Party Panda (from 2018?) stamp and die from Lawn Fawn for the current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge (#103). And since this is a birthday card, I decided to share this at the Addicted to Stamps and More birthday challenge (#408)

To make the card, I stamped the party panda and the cupcake from the Party Panda set VersaFine Claire in Morning Mist and the sentiment from the Happy Happy Happy stamp and die set in Catherine Pooler ink in Sea Glass. I then heat embossed all of them with
Holographic embossing powder from Ranger. I then die cut the panda, cupcake and the word happy with their corresponding die cuts. I used Gina K's Master Layout 2 die set's smaller stitched flag die to cut the word birthday. (The sentiment die cut and the stitched flag die cut were used twice more on some scrap cardstock so I could create three layers of dimension for both of them.)

Next, I moved onto the the background. I used the Gina K Master Layout 2 die set for both layers--I cut a piece of patterned paper in my stash (you can see the same gray and white triangular paper on the front of the card) with the largest rectangular die and then directly added some Cloudy Night ink from Altenew to the edge of that patterned paper. I then cut a piece of white cardstock with the second largest rectangular die and then used some of the images from the Wonky Backgrounds by Julie Ebersole from Ellen Hutson in more of the Altenew Cloudy Night ink as well as Sea Glass and Sangria from Catherine Pooler around the whole panel, some with more of the Holographic embossing powder, and some without. Once I finished stamping, I ink blended the border with more of the Sea Glass (as well as the border of the stitched flag birthday sentiment).

To assemble the card, I glued the green, purple and gray top panel to the gray and white matte panel with liquid glue, Next, I die cut one more piece of the gray and white patterned paper with Simon Says Stamp's Strips 2 die set and used more glue to place it on the panel in accordance with the sketch. I then ink blended the edges of the gray and white strip with more of the Sea Glass ink to match the rest of the panel. I added foam tape to the back of the panda and cupcake and then added them to the card. Liquid glue was used to attach both parts of the sentiment. Sequins from Catherine Pooler's Santa Fe sequin mix were placed around the panel with more liquid glue. Finally, I added more foam tape behind the panel and attached the whole thing to a white card base.
