Addicted to CAS Challenge #198: Ombre
Today I wanted to share my clean and simple (CAS) ombre card for the CAS challenge blog. This card is intended for a coworker and his wife to celebrate their first baby! It is also my first 6x6 square card.
To make the card, I started by ink blending some white card stock with Distress Oxide Inks in Worn Lipstick, Kitsch Flamingo and Ripe Persimmon. I then die cut out the letters needed to spell baby using Pinkfresh Studio's Kelly Alpha Upper Case die 3 times-once in the blended card stock and twice using some white scrap card stock. I then glued them together to add dimension to the letter and then set them aside to dry. Next, I pulled out my Scalloped Flowers stencil from The Crafter's Workshop and I ink blended again with the same 3 Distress Oxide Inks.
Next, added some flicks of Luna Silver from my Gansai Tambi Starry Colors watercolor set. After the panel dried, I cut it out using the Essential Squares from Ellen Hutson as well as a piece of Brutus Monroe Glamour Gloss Stock in Wizard (so I could use it for a frame). I added some foam tape behind the stencil-colored square and the golden frame and then attached the whole thing to the card base. To finish the card, I added some pink gems from Honey Bee Stamps.
Thanks for reading!
