Flower cards (Modsquad Challenge)

Flower cards (Modsquad Challenge)

This is my first submission to the Modsquad Challenge and I am so excited. I have recently found Tracy Shultz, and was excited to see that she was judging the challenge this week and next so I decided to take the plunge! Plus the challenge (floral cards) is something that I really enjoy.

I made three variations on the same card. The floral image came from the Mondo Wildflower set from Ellen Hutson. I stamped the floral image on a piece of white card stock and heat embossed it with Holographic embossing powder from Ranger. Next, I colored the image with a variety of Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. The whole panel was attached using foam tape to a piece of patterned paper in my stash that was die cut and glued to a card base. I finished up each of the cards with some gems from Honey Bee Stamps.

Card #1: I used some Delicata Champagne ink to stamp the image onto a piece of card stock that already had some yellow ink smooshed onto it from another project. I added more color around the edges of the flowers after I finished coloring the flowers. The sentiment came from Simon Says Stamps' Just Because Word Mix 2 stamp and die set.

Card #2: The flowers for this card were stamped with VersaFine Clair in Nocturne. The sentiment came from Lawn Fawn's Outside In Stitched Speech Bubbles dies.

Card #3: I ink blended some Catherine Pooler Inks (Something Borrowed and Be Mine) onto a piece of white card stock and then used Champagne ink from Delicata to stamp the floral image. After I finished coloring the flowers with Zig markers, I decided to add some additional shine by water coloring around the edges of the floral image with Luna Silver watercolor from my Gansai Tambi Starry Colors watercolor set. The sentiment came from the Just Because Word Mix 2. I added some sequins from Catherine Poolers' Summer City sequin mix. As a final touch, I lightly ink-blended around the edge of the card base with Something Borrowed.

Thanks for reading!
