Altenew's April Challenge
Altenew's April Challenge
Altenew's monthly challenge asks crafters to make something based on an inspirational image.I went wild and made a few cards for this challenge. I really love the color combo, the flowers, and circular background!
This first two card feature Altenew's Happy Pomegranates stamp and die set. I stamped the set using my new Delicata Champagne stamp pad and then heat embossed it with Holographic embossing powder from Ranger. (Shout out to Collage, my local crafting store where I bought my ink and embossing powder.) I then die cut out the stamped images.
I colored the stamped images using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers that I then blended with some water. Next, I die cut some gold card stock using Simon Says Stamps Ring Wreath wafer die. I glued the wreath directly to a blue card base, and then added the leaves and the flowers after that. I popped up the pomegranate image with some foam tape before placing it on top of the flowers and leaves. Added some gems from Honey Bee Stamps and some gold splatters using my Gansi Tambi Starry Colors watercolor set.
The second card is very similar to the first, except that I used two sets of the flowers (rather than one flower and one leaf) from the Happy Pomegranates set, and substituted in a different wreath like die cut that I had in my stash to cut some holographic silver card stock from Simon Says Stamp.
The third card was a little bit different. I used the same circular wreathy-y die and cut out some white card stock that I had inked up with Lucky Clover Distressed Oxide. I added some more of the Holographic embossing powder from Ranger as well as some Wow! embossing powder in Mermaid Tails. I then glued the wreath to the card. I added some of the leaves from the Leaf Canopy stamp and die set. The purple and blue leaves were stamped using the outline stamp, where I colored in the leaves with Zig markers and then heat embossed the edges with complementary ink and the holographic embossing powder. The green leaves were created coloring directly onto the stamp with a few different green Zig markers. I glued all three leaf clusters onto the card with liquid glue. I splattered some blue watercolor from the Gansai Tambi Pearl Colors watercolor set. I finished up the card with some sequins that I had in my stash.
This is the image that inspired all of these cards. Thanks for reading!
