Altenew Feburary 2020 Inspiration Challenge

Altenew has such wonderful products and ideas. Their monthly inspiration challenge is no exception. The February 2020 challenge allowed me to play with a color combination that I usually don't use--green and yellow. Now we are in Oregon, so that combo is immediately associated with the University of Oregon, so if you are a Beaver fan, please forgive the colors. Here is the inspiration photo from Altenew:

At first I was playing with some card stock that was too harsh, but settled on playing with some patterned papers in my stash, a strip of green paper with a white pattern from an old magazine, and then a stamp set and die from Altenew. Here is my card:
I used the Leaf Canopy stamp and die set from Altenew, and double stamped both the outline and the silhouette in two shades of green, clear embossed them, and then colored in the outline stamp with some different green inks. I added some gold watercolor from my Gansai Tambi Starry Color set. Finally I die cut out both.

I then used a pretty leafy yellow paper from my stash and die cut it with a die cut that is the size of my card base, and then added two strips of green paper-one a darker green strip and a light green strip with a white pattern from a magazine spread, both in my stash, across the length of the yellow card stock. I stamped the Hello sentiment from the Leaf Canopy stamp set, attached the two leaf clusters using some foam tape to pop them up, and then attached some gems and sequins in gold and green randomly on the card.

  1. hahaha I often forget about sports colours and would only use them as card colour combos, but green and yellow were my school colours from Primary school so there is that too lol. Great choice to use the Leaf canopy, your card is wonderful!
